Recipe for 40 ounce carafe.
65 grams of medium-course ground coffee.
2 liters (34 oz) water at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chop stick/Spoon, something to stir with.
Step 1
Preheat carafe by filling carafe with 1 liter of hot water. Wait 30 seconds then discard water.
Step 2
Add 65 grams of coffee.
Step 3
Add 200 ml of water. Stir 10 times. Wait 30 seconds.
Step 4
Add remaining 800 ml of water. Stir 10 times.
Step 5
Place lid onto carafe then slide plunger down so that it is barely under water, ensuring all of the coffee is submerged and extracted. Wait 3 minutes 30 seconds.
Step 6
Plunge slowly to prevent blow by and serve immediately. If you aren’t drinking all of it right away, pour the remaining coffee into a thermos so it doesn't remain in contact with the coffee grounds.
